Don’t forget. Tonight is the first airing of “45th at Night” featuring Maroon 5 with special guests Kanye West and Eve. This is bound to be very entertaining and worthwhile to check out. I’m excited to see what songs they decide to perform for the venue and what Kanye West and Eve have up their sleeves with the band. 7:30PM on MTV!

As does the majority of bands and artists, Maroon 5 has songs that didn’t make the cut for the album. But unlike other artists, they decided to release a few of them as bonus tracks or B-Side rarities. From time to time I will post a streaming bonus track for your listening pleasure. The first up is the only B-Side rarity called, The Way I Was. This has to be my favorite of the bonus tracks. It has a great sound and I wonder why it didn’t make the cut. There are 7 songs total. You can download some of the bonus tracks and if you buy the CD in certain stores they will come as a bonus track. Also different countries were able to get different bonus tracks. So check back to hear some great tracks starting off with The Way I Was.

Design a Maroon 5 cover for Monitor This! Magazine’s August issue. On their website they give you all the tools to create your very own magazine cover. Submit it, people will vote and you might just get the chance to see your design featured. If you’re the grand prize winner, your magazine cover will be the cover of the August issue. Aside from that, the grand prize winner will get a copy of the magazine signed by the band and autographed Maroon 5 swag. Today is the last day so if you still want to try you have till 11:30 PM or you can check out the designs that are in the running. The issue you’re looking at is one of the designs submitted.

iVillage scored an interview with Maroon 5’s Mickey Madden where he answered some interesting questions. First off was about the long gap in between the two records and he explains why it took so long and if there were any pressures on releasing a second album from the record label. He also talks about how ridiculous the digital flowers were on the “This Love” video to cover up the sex scene with Adam Levine. I, as probably a lot of people, think that it was unnecessary to cover that up. It was only brought about because of the censorship due to the Janet Jackson incident. Did you think that it was a bit much? He also says that he nor does anyone else in Maroon 5 for that matter, vote on American Idol when asked if they voted for Blake Lewis who sang two Maroon 5 songs. He also reveals that they were having hard time debating between putting Makes Me Wonder on or off the record. Good thing they decided to put it on. What he didn’t reveal is what the name, Maroon 5, really means. Will we ever know?!

When asked what their most embarrassing YouTube clip is, on a Q&A with Rolling Stone, Adam Levine says their very first music video, Soap Disco, as Kara’s Flowers is the most embarrassing. He also says he can know if a song will be good if his younger brother and sister like it because “if you can get a kid singing the words to a song after they heard it for the first time, it’s a hit.” Rolling Stone asks what he is currently listening to and one of his choices is Amy Winehouse. Also in the interview he talks about environment, his car fetish, fear of flying and being pumped about performing with Sting. On the photo shoot Adam does for Rolling Stones you can see several of his tattoos. On his left shoulder there is a flower but I’ve never seen his right shoulder tattoo which is the word Los Angeles. This is very befitting of Adam Levine as he is born and raised in Los Angeles and loves his city.

I know what you’re thinking. Another hip hop song featuring Adam Levine? Not this time. This time Maroon 5 will perform with Eve and Kanye West. Where? MTV’s special 45th at Night.

I really enjoyed their last “45th at Night” special becuase Mos Def was performing with Amy Winehouse. Not two people you would think would be performing together but it makes for great entertainment.

So be sure to catch Adam Levine and the gang with their very special guests on MTV’s 45th at Night. I’m sure it will be an interesting mash up to have Kanye West and Eve with Maroon 5 instead of just borrowing Adam Levine’s voice. It airs at 7:30 on June 29th. On the June Issue of Blender magazine, Adam Levine is featured in the Dear Superstar section of Blender magazine. He’s asked about being called a manwhore, how far he got with each girl he’s been linked with, if he’s ever had sex to his own music, worst gig and why did he pick such an awful band name. I know, horrible questions. Basically, Adam Levine is put through the ringer when it’s the readers of Blender magazine’s turn to ask the question and be the inteviewer. The questions are really funny and it’s funny to see how much Adam Levine is going to reveal or how he tries to dodge an uncomfortable question like what base he got to with Natalie Portman. It’s a really interesting interview so props to Blender for giving an out of the box interview.

Maroon 5 is Music Choice’s Artist of the Month. Good news to those who have onDemand service. This means that the entire Maroon 5 video catalog is onDemand to watch whenever you’d like. Beside that there are also interviews such as Maroon 5 naked. Sorry ladies, not what you’re thinking. On this interview they are asked different questions from fans. For instance he’s asked what Maroon 5’s musical influences are to which they reply The Beatles, Michael Jackson, The Police and Prince. Adam Levine is quoted saying, “I love pop music. Pop music is R&B. Pop music is Rock & Roll. They also address why they support putting a stop to global warming. Adam also addresses the difference between their first album and their second which is that Songs About Jane, musically, mid-tempo so now their second is more aggressive up tempo beats. “We want people to dance more on this record”, says Levine.

Another good clip ondemand is making of the video, Makes Me Wonder. John Hillcoat was the director of the video. For this video they just wanted to make a statement that they’re back. For that they decided to shoot it on an airplane and a sort of disco or huge party in an airport. A portion of the video was shot at LAX international airport. The part where he’s walking down the hallway.

Watching Maroon 5 go through each of their music videos from their first to last you can really see how they’ve progressed as a band and also, how big they’ve become from the low budget first music video to renting out LAX for their current single.

Get the June issue of Bass Player magazine to read an interesting interview with Mickey Madden and one of the producers of “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long”, Mike Elizondo. In the interview Madden talks about Adam Levine’s songwriting abilities, their gameplan for making songs and how the band compliments each other. Mike Elizondo, who is most known for his work with Dr. Dre, is also a fellow bassist who helped produce the album. After reading the interview, it’s easy to see why the album was so well put together. They worked really hard on it and pulled out all the stops for it.

Adam Levine was on The Howard Stern Show this monday and brought along with him his new girlfriend, 21 year old Rebecca Ginos. How did they meet? Becky was a hostess in Las Vegas at the 9 steakhouse at The Palms. They also performed “This Love” and covered The Beatles song, “Don’t Let me Down.” Howard Stern also tried to get him to dish on several of the rumored hook ups linked to Levine such as Jessica Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, Natalie Portman, Paris Hilton, Kristen Dunst and more. Artie of The Howard Stern show said that “if there was any justice, he would come back as a slug.” They also commented on his current girlfriend saying how she was “flawless” and Artie said if she wasn’t dating him, he would offer her $50,000 to sleep with him. That’s how the InStyle magazine interview with Adam Levine is kicked off. What do these 3 ladies have in common? They’ve all been linked with Adam Levine. The envy of all men. In the interview and photo shoot we’re given a tour of Adam Levine’s Hollywood Hills abode. From what I read and saw, it looks like the ultimate bachelor pad complete with a sweet master’s bedroom, a killer view and an xbox360. In the interview he also talks about where he keeps his Grammy’s, how he partied with Prince and that PeeWee Herman complains about the parking situation when his neighbor, Adam, has too many guests over. Definitely an interesting interview about Adam and you can tell that this house is an eye opener to Adam Levine on how successful Maroon 5 has become, especially when you’ve got a view of the Hollywood sign…oh and a blackbook with those names on it.

What’s the next single off of the sophomore album? Wake Up Call. I’m dying to see the video for this single. Especially since the topic of the song is about cheating and infidelity. What do you think about this being the next single? What song do you think should be the next single?

If you haven’t already heard, there is a new member to the Maroon 5 family. Congratulations to Maroon 5’s drummer and his wife for having their second child, Michael Ford Flynn. Due to the recent birth they’ve been postponing their shows or giving an alternative acoustic show to let Daddy Matt Flynn have some time with his family.
