If you haven’t heard Maroon 5 is going on tour. A lot of the tour dates have gone on sale so if you want to see them on tour buy your tickets now.

The plot of the music video is thickening each time. Great hype device.

According to Wikipedia,

“According to a casting sheet found on the web, director Jonas Ackerlund and the band are looking for a leading lady to play frontman Adam Levine’s love interest, as well as an older, haggard-looking man (the sheet made specific references to both Mickey Rourke and Ian McShane) for the role of the other man. There is also mention of strippers and pole dancers, as well as body doubles in said casting sheet (a mild sex scene is expected to take place, though the characters involved are unknown).

Filming took place on July 7-9, with the video’s premiere estimated for mid-July.”

Maroon 5 has posted a bunch of short clips to create buzz for their next music video wake up call. It’s a great way to get people hyped as the clips look really great. My favorite one is Adam Levine about to smash a mirror in with a baseball bat, shirtless for the ladies. There will be posting more teasers so check back here as I will post them all. I have 6 right now and there’s supposed to be 8 more. The director is Jonas Akerlund.

If you’ve always thought that Adam Levine has a good sense of style or dresses really well. Well there’s reason for his eye for fashion. It helps when your family owns a high end boutique that has been running for over 30 years now. M. Fredric is owned by his father and features high end clothing and apparel. If you’re ever in the area of M.Fredric be sure to check it out. For some opening Adam Levine was there to help celebrate. Just expect to spend a lot of money if you plan on buying something.

I’ve been following who will be tagging along for the U.S. tour and finally I get to The Hives. Many thought this was an odd choice. What do you think? They aren’t exactly Maroon 5’s style of music but neither are the other opening acts. The Hives came into popularity with their hit song, I Hate To Say I Told You So in the early 2000’s. They are also featured on Timbaland’s new record, Shock Value. They will be on every date for the tour. Here is probably their most identifiable song, their first single: I Hate To Say I Told You So.

Aspiring new artist, Kevin Michael, will join Maroon 5 in a portion of their tour. I had the pleasure of being able to see Kevin Michael open for Maroon 5 during the Myspace Secret Show here in San Diego. He has a good stage presence and you can see that afro a mile away. He and his beat-boxing guitar player took the stage for a couple songs and he was fairly decent. Is it me or does Maroon 5 have very odd choices for opening acts. Kevin Michael seems really out of place as an opening act for Maroon 5 but in his genre of music is fairly good. Beside Kevin Michael, The Hives will be the other opening act. So those tour dates will be a very interesting mixture of musical sounds. Here is his video for my favorite Kevin Michael song celebrating where he came from, It Don’t Make Any Difference To Me. Stopping by on some shows will be Phantom Planet. These guys are great friends of Maroon 5 and they have been playing with them for over eight years. Here’s their music video of one of their more famous songs, California, the theme song to the hit TV show, OC.

They will be opening for Maroon 5 at Portland, Vancouver, Sacramento, San Jose, Los Angeles and San Diego.

You read right. According to TMZ.com, Maroon 5 frontman and Hilary Clinton were both to call a morning radio show in Las Vegas but Hilary’s demanding schedule was leaving her with no choice but to find a different time slot with the radio show. So she asked Adam Levine’s people if they could switch to which they had no problem with. Hilary Clinton was pleased that she offered to have dinner to which Adam Levine accepted. Adam Levine was quoted saying “I love it, I will be there for dinner,” Levine said when he heard about the offer. “I’m going to dress classy for her, she’s a classy lady.”

Tickets go on sale July 14th for their U.S. tour. They have several opening acts depending on which show you decide to go to. Sara Bareilles and Kevin Michael will be there for some shows. The Hives will be with them during the whole tour and Phantom Planet will tag along for the last part of the tour. Maroon 5 will have some great opening acts so all the more reason to come see them live.

Sara Bareilles, Los Angeles singer/songwriter, currently has the top downloaded album on iTunes. Here is her music video for a song from her new album, Little Voice.

Fairytale

If you watched the Ellen Degeneres interview with Adam Levine you would have learned that Maroon 5 was nervous doing American Idol. Watch that clip to find out why. Here’s the performance and see if you can tell if he was nervous.

The U.S. tour has been announced. Planning to hit 28 cities, the tour will start September 29 in Detroit and end in November 10 in Las Vegas. Maroon 5 is working really hard promoting their album and tour working non-stop and currently on tour in Japan and Europe. They are also working with Global Cool which will help the band make the tour more environmentally friendly and carbon neutral. Maroon 5 will donate one dollar of each ticket purchase to make the tour more carbon neutral. To help promote their tour they have launched a separate website I have spoken about in my previous post. Since the launch of the website a little over a week ago the website has received over two million hits. Tickets will go on sale July 14th. From experience, I can say that Maroon 5 is a great live band and worth the money. If they are coming to a town near you be sure to go, it’ll be worth it.

To help promote their upcoming American tour, Maroon 5 has created a website for the fans. The website gives Maroon 5’s fans a chance to be apart of the tour. How? By simply post your picture onto the new website, you may be apart of the tour poster. In addition to that, everyone that signs up on the website is entered into a sweepstakes where the grand prize winner receives a trip to Vegas to come watch Maroon 5 perform live along with a meet and greet. Everyone that signs up also will receive updates about the tour and will receive a message from the band on July 9th about the tour. I believe they will be letting their fans get a sneak preview of their next single, Wake Up Call, video. This is a great single and I am excited to see what kind of video concept they decided to go for.
